II. Membership classes
B. Academic/Research Member
1. Students, teachers and research personnel affiliated with a public center of higher learning that are performing metrological activities in support of training and/or research for forensic investigation or security planning may be accepted as Academic/Research Members, provided that they:
a. conform to Association requirements for candidacy and are respected members of the community,
b. are actively pursuing a career in collecting spatial data and or creating diagrams in 2D or 3D for investigators, legal professionals and/or academic research for the sole purpose of aiding in the discovery of the truth,
c. fully and thoroughly complete the application process,
d. accompany their application form with a dated and signed letter on their organization's/company's letterhead in which they state their current affiliation or employment.
2. Academic/Research Members enjoy all rights and privileges of General Membership, except that they may not vote or hold office.
Annual membership fee: $100. *College professors and students: $25.
