Service providers
Representatives of law enforcement agencies from around the world will be attending the IAFSM/SPAR Conference. As a service provider, you will have the opportunity to interact one-on-one with these individuals and gain first-hand knowledge of their needs. You will have access to the IAFSM Board of Directors to advise how to make each conference the best it can be. The Board will develop committees to address international standards for applying 3D laser scanning and related technologies to forensic and crime scenes/events. With your help, we can together forge a better tomorrow.
IAFSM will provide required training courses and tests for service providers who would like to respond alongside law enforcement experts at events/crime scenes. These courses will give students the opportunity to learn what evidence is, what the various types are, what to do when you suspect you have discovered evidence, and how not to disturb, contaminate, cross-contaminate or create evidence. By taking these courses and passing the associated tests, you will join IAFSM's list of internationally qualified service providers that the international law enforcement community will be able to select from when the need arises. This training will be provided by experts from within the FBI Laboratory, state crime laboratories and/or similar bodies.
A quarterly newsletter will be coming in 2007. This email newsletter will help IAFSM members stay on top of the latest developments in forensic and security metrology around the world, and will give members a venue to publish articles on current events, their usage of new technologies and their results.
